The Characteristics of the Slaves of the Merciful
The Characteristics of the Slaves of the Merciful
Imam ‘Abdur-Rahman As-Sa’dee (d. 1376H) | Salafi Publications
Allah has defined the characteristics of His slaves in various places throughout the Qur’an. From the most poignant of these verses is the statement of Allah in Surah-al-Furqan. Allah, the Most High, has stated,
“And the slaves of the Most Merciful are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply with mild words of gentleness. And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrating and standing in prayer.”
These verses, commonly referred to as the ‘Sifatu Ibadir-Rahman’ (the characteristics of the worshippers of Ar-Rahman), contain some of the most important characteristics of the successful, believing slaves of Allah. It is therefore elementary that every Believer should understand them.
The intent of this book is to clarify these most important verses, according to the explanations of Imam ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn Nasir As-Sa’dee, may Allah, the Most High, have mercy upon him, one of the greatest contemporary scholars of our time.
